The Company


Coway (formerly known as Woongjin Coway (M) Sdn. Bhd.) is the top consumer and household electronics company in Korea. Since it establishment in 1989, we have taken the lead in expanding and advancing the market.Having won recognition for its products and service quality both at home and abroad, Coway started to diversity its product portfolio in the mid-1990s to become a household electronics company in real sense.

The company has extended its product lineup from water filtration appliances to air purifiers, bidets, water softeners and food waste disposers, which improve the quality of our customers' lives and preserve the environment.

In the time since its establishment, Coway has consistently grown while maintaining transparency an ethics management principles. In 1998, we introduced a rental business model for the first time in the industry and provide before sales service by service representative call "Cody". As a result, Coway has topped the Gallup polls recent years in terms of market share, customer satisfaction and brand awareness.Since mid-2000s, the company has actively made forays into the global market to become a leading global household electronics company, while strengthening our domestic position.

As present, we operate five overseas subsidiaries which is Malaysia was one of it, one branch and a logistics center in Netherlands, and continue to increase exports and build a strong foundation for sustainable growth. In particular, from 2009, we have bolstered our position as a sustainable company by focusing on green management, thereby implementing customer value management and contributing to the sustainable development of humankind.

Coway was introduced to the Malaysian market in 2006. With the tagline “We Bring Wellness”, Coway positions itself as the brand that cares for your health and the environment, providing 100% eco-friendly home appliances for your well-being. To date, there are more than 40,000 customers in Malaysia and the number is rapidly growing.




Company Vision


On the company's 20th anniversary in May 2009, Coway declared its vision of "The 1st Green Global Leader which Designs a Healthy Tomorrow" and selected confidence, respect, integrity, passion, speed and action and cooperation as its core values. Moreover, the company designated 2009 as the initial year of customer value management by holding the service innovation declaration ceremony.

Coway set its goal of becoming a customer service provider as a consumer electronics manufacturer and defined action plans and core values in accordance with this goal. In particular, the core values were items that gained more than 50 percent support ~ two-third of all Coway employees ~ from participants of a company survey.

The core management Philosophy of Coway is "Tto Tto Sarang" which means "Love and Love Again".

The company operates its business with love for individual members of the company, its stakeholders, the communities it operates in and the world.

In this respect, "Tto Tto Sarang" is in line with Coway's sustainability management, which contributes to the sustainable development of human beings and enhancement of stakeholder value. The Technology






R&D Center

Coway has established its first R&D center in 1993 before begins its factory production in 1994. In December 2006, Coway firmed a partnership with Seoul National University, a top ranking university in Korea, to further develop technology driven products utilizing both industrial and academy knowledge.

The R&D Center with 6 stories above ground, 2 stories below and 12,208m2 in floor space is located within Seoul National University’s research district. To date, Coway is one of only three companies to have R&D facilities at the university follow by Samsung and SK Telecom.















Recognized as “Drinking Water Quality
Inspection Institution”



Total of KRW 58 billion was invested for the R&D Center, which is equipped with 182 cutting-edge devices such as high-tech research facilities including Environmental Analysis Center appointed by Han River Basin Environmental Office as “Drinking Water Quality Inspection Institution” and certified as KOLAS international testing lab for water quality, 45 laboratories, a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) measurement chamber, a dead room for noise Measurement, and wind tunnel measuring equipment.

R&D centre at Coway place priority on improving consumer convenience rather than improve profit of company. It is founded on consumer-centric system that exhaustively identifies and discovers consumer needs in product development.

on R&D programs


Coway prides itself on adhering to the most stringent quality control, thus receiving the 
Reduction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS) Certificate of Compliance. As of the end of 2009, total 
250 R& D researchers consist of doctorate, master and bachelor degree holders pursue well-being 
culture with products improving the quality of life.
